Capitol Business Solutions Inc. is currently seeking aStaff Accountant/Analyst to join our team.
Job Description:
Perform U.S. Federal Government accounting and budget functions for Capitol Business Solutions' clients. Gather data and assist with the preparation of annual budgets, prepare SF132 Apportionments and Reapportionments, and MAX submissions. Gather data and report the status of budget execution. Apply understanding of accounting operations and financial systems to process obligation, revenue, and expenditure transactions. Submit SF2234, FACTS I, and FACTS II Trial Balances, and Quarterly Financial Statements. Produce custom internal and/or external management reports using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Duties:
Interface with the client on day-to-day activities. Independently perform specifically assigned projects/tasks provided by senior engagement staff. Apply one's understanding of accounting operations and financial systems to record complex financial events. Apply one's understanding of accounting and financial management to conduct complex data gathering, analysis, and reconciliation, and reporting. Support the completion and execution of planned projects/tasks within estimated time frames, budget constraints, and client requirements. Support day-to-day project management meetings and project/task-specific presentations to clients.
Education/Certifications:
Undergraduate Degree or B.S. Degree preferred.
Experience:
Possess 1 to 3 years of experience. A Masters Degree in Business Administration with a strong background in Finance and Accounting may be substituted for years of experience.
Skills:
Must possess knowledge of Microsoft office automation tools and financial systems. Demonstrated knowledge in the creation and utilization of spreadsheets, databases, documents, and presentations.

- Must possess a working knowledge of federal financial and accounting legislation, policies, standards, and financial system requirements, such as the Prompt Payment Act, FFMIA, CFO Act, GPRA, GMRA, Credit Reform Act of 1990, GAAP, FASAB, and OMB Circulars and Bulletins.
- Experience with U.S. Federal government financial systems.
- Experience participating in the design, implementation and management of accounting and financial management engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to independently apply your accounting and financial management knowledge to project tasks and to provide guidance and direction to subordinate engagement staff.
